VIDEO| MY GO-TO MAKEUP LOOK & SWIITCHBEAUTY #GLOWGASMPALETTE REVIEW

Guess who's back to filming?!

When I set my blogging goals for 2017 I identified regular blog posts and video content as a priority - I haven't quite fulfilled those goals thus far so this video marks my attempt at getting myself back on track with that mission before the year is through. To get me into the groove of filming I decided to pick an easy makeup look to film, so I went with my go-to makeup look which is a bronzey natural glow. The key product that I used to achieve this look is the SwiitchBeauty #GLOWGASMPALETTE which I received earlier this year along with the #Blend8 8-piece eyeshadow brush pack which is also featured in the video. I have reviewed the highlighter palette below.

Six shades that suit a multitude of skintones

The #GLOWGASMPALETTE* (R450, swiitchbeauty.com) comprises six superbly pigmented highlighters, five of which are shimmery powder shades and one cream-based. One letdown of the palette is that the individual shades are not named on the palette, but I saw THIS Instagram post that details the names of the individual shades. Based on my swatches I would describe the shades as follows:

Top Row: Rose Gold (Bronze), Midas (Yellow Gold) (cream-based), Bubbly (True Champagne)
Bottom Row: Velvet Peach (Peachy Champagne), Baby Girl (Icy-Pink Champagne), Glen Coco (True Gold)

The texture of the individual shades is velvety smooth which makes blending quite easy. If you are the 'blind them with my glow' typa girl, you'll love how intensely reflective each pigment is and that the shades can be layered to create a extra-dimensional glow. I go a bit H.A.M. in the video, so I'm definitely appreciative of the high definition shine! The palette itself isn't the most travel-friendly item from the SwiitchBeauty brand, but it makes up with the sheer gigantic size of the individual pans -it's going to be a long while before I have to purchase another highlighter that's for sure. I can't comment on the longevity of the cream-based highlighter because I haven't used it, however in terms of the powder shades the wear is pretty long-lasting (> 8 hours).

The intense pigmentation of these highlighters is truly sublime
What I appreciate most about the palette is how comparable the shades are to highly-sought after (and more expensive) highlighter palettes such as the Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Kit. I don't own the ABH Glow Kit so I can't compare the texture and ease of blending, but from the swatches I've seen from other bloggers, the colours look quite similar.

If you are starting out in makeup (as 2017 goals go) and would love to get a highlighter palette, I would recommend the #GLOWGASMPALETTE as it does have a good range of shades for you to experiment with and the quality is pretty impressive.

Hope the review has been helpful!

Until next time,
