VIDEO| MY GO-TO MAKEUP LOOK & SWIITCHBEAUTY #GLOWGASMPALETTE REVIEW

Guess who's back to filming?!

When I set my blogging goals for 2017 I identified regular blog posts and video content as a priority - I haven't quite fulfilled those goals thus far so this video marks my attempt at getting myself back on track with that mission before the year is through. To get me into the groove of filming I decided to pick an easy makeup look to film, so I went with my go-to makeup look which is a bronzey natural glow. The key product that I used to achieve this look is the SwiitchBeauty #GLOWGASMPALETTE which I received earlier this year along with the #Blend8 8-piece eyeshadow brush pack which is also featured in the video. I have reviewed the highlighter palette below.

HAIR| HOW I MAINTAIN MY BRAIDS

south-african-beauty-blogger

Getting braids has always been the more preferred method of protective styling for my relaxed hair - it is fuss-free and relatively inexpensive to maintain. Knowing well that most people turn to protective styling during the cold season, I thought it would be worthwhile to share some of the products I love to use on my hair when it's braided.

SWATCHES| NYX PRO LIP CREAM PALETTE in 'THE REDS'

SOUTH-AFRICAN-BEAUTY-BLOGGER
Undoubtedly, red is one of the more significantly emotive hues of the colour spectrum. It commands attention without asking for it. It is sensual, it is sexy, it is 'in your face'. Lately, I have found myself quite drawn to the color, seduced if you may. I have been going through quite a stressful phase of my life and have really needed a 'pick me up' and somehow red found me.

My collection of red lipsticks is actually quite small - I have two MAC lipsticks including the infamous Ruby Woo and this NYX Pro Lip Cream Palette* aptly called 'The Reds'.

REVIEW| #WORLDOFNYX GOODIES

It’s no secret that I am an avid fan of NYX Professional Makup, so when I got an invite to attend the pre-launch of the first #WorldOfNYX in Africa in November last year, I was very excited. I have since also been able to attend a meet up that they organised for a few bloggers and influencers in Johannesburg.

At the meet up we got to test out a few of their products that will be launching in April (can’t wait!) and yes I’ve spotted a few products that I simply have to have, including a beautiful radiant finishing powder which may just be a worthy dupe for MAC’s Mineralise Skinfinish Natural range. The meet up was also in part a celebration of the two new upcoming openings of #WorldOfNYX displays at Mall of Africa (Johannesburg) and Gateway (Durban). I caught some of the action on my Insta stories, however makeup artist and beauty influencer Thandi Gama has a vlog on the event – check out her channel HERE.

Anyway, as the excitement mounts up leading to the two new openings, I thought I would share with you some of the products I received at the pre-launch and give a brief review, so that you may know which products to get while you are out there.

REVIEW| L’ORÉAL PURE CLAY GLOW MASK

I love a good DIY mask however when I saw that the L’Oréal Pure Clay Masks had finally hit our South African shores, I simply had to get one. These masks were some of the most 'talked about' products of 2016, so naturally when more than one beauty blogger says buy it, I oblige. I decided to get the Glow Mask and so far it's fit perfectly into my pamper routine.

REVIEW| THE BEST OF 2016

Coming up with my pick of the top 10 beauty products that stood out in 2016 was actually easier than expected. These products were the unfailing dons of my 2016 beauty collection, so I thought I should give credit were credit is due.

NEW BEGINNINGS

I felt odd about jumping straight into my blogging schedule without greeting you and acknowledging that we made it into 2017, so before I go on let me just say 'HAPPY NEW YEAR!' I hope that the year has been good to you so far (if it hasn't, just remember that the year actually starts in February - January is just an hors d'oeuvre to the delicious main meal that is 2017, lol).
