REVIEW| 3INA COSMETICS

I realised after taking these pics that my 3INA collection looks quite Christmassy, so I thought I'd share with guys my recent purchases from the brand that may inspire a trendy festive makeup look!

HEY OLD FRIEND...

I don't talk about myself a lot on this blog- sure I talk about the things I love, more specifically makeup but sharing the person behind the blog is something that I have time and again stopped myself from doing.

DIY| HYDRATING 'PEEL OFF' FACE MASK

As part of my skincare routine, I love to apply a facial mask once or twice a week for that extra bit of nourishment and pampering. I have been loving making my own facial masks lately and since it is Sunday, a day I usually reserve for getting some mind, body and soul rejuvenation, I’ve decided to share some of my favourite DIY masks so that you can also experience the fulfilment of homemade cosmetic splendour.

I’ll be sharing the DIY masks over a three week period (trying to keep my posts short ‘n sweet) and this week we’ll be looking at a hydrating ‘peel off’ mask.

REVIEW| NYX COSMETICS HAUL

NYX Cosmetics is definitely in my good books this year! The brand recently updated their makeup collection across several Clicks stores in South Africa and will be launching a much anticipated #WorldOfNYX display at Menlyn Park, Pretoria next week Friday. To say that I'm excited would truly be an understatement! I got my hands on a few of the new products that have been launched and will surely be at the #WorldOfNYX grand opening, so let's see what's good...

TRENDS| SS16 MAKEUP TRENDS I'M LOVING (& YOU SHOULD TRY)

I love makeup but I'm probably the least adventurous person when it comes to colour. I typically stick to my bronzes, golds and nudes however this year I've felt an unshakeable desire to get out of my comfort zone and surrender myself to the season's striking orange-red lips, royal blue liners and flirty spider lashes.

REVIEW| AFFORDABLE SPRING/SUMMER PERFUMES - ZARA

ZARA SOUTH AFRICA

"A woman who doesn't wear perfume has no future".

The legendary Coco Chanel is quoted to having said that and while I do not agree with her sentiments, I can attest that perfume has a way of creating a vision, a fantasy if you may, for the wearer. It can take you from a sophisticated black-tie dinner to a breezy, sun-kissed palm-lined beachfront just from the mere bouquet of the fragrance.

Designer perfumes are my ideal choice for a memorable scent, however they do come with a hefty price tag. So, to make sure that I can keep them in my perfume collection for a longer time (while I save up for a new fragrance), I like to alternate with more affordable scents and in this post, I share my two current fave spring/summer scents from Zara.

HAIR| MY RELAXED HAIR ESSENTIALS

"What do you use on your hair?"

This one question has followed me through shopping malls, hair salons, night outs, public toilets...you name it. If my hair is worn down I'm almost guaranteed to get frisked with that one question but I won't lie, it does feel good to get that little bit of recognition...kinda feels like a 'good job' pat on the back. In those instances I often just name the brand and keep it moving because honestly, to name each and every single product would take forever but since I have a blog, I thought I'd share a bit more on what I currently have in my hair care stash...

5 BEAUTY TOOLS WORTH BUYING

south african beauty blogger

Although I’m not yet at the point of using eyebrow and eyeshadow stencils, I have to admit that I’m one of those beauty enthusiasts who prefer to take the easy way out when it comes to any routine. I mean, if there is a quick and efficient way to perform any normally tedious and time-consuming task, why not take it, right? Like these stencils, an effective beauty tool can save you a heap load of time and frustration. I’m certain that many of you share my sentiments, so I’ve decided to share with you my top five favourite and definitely 'worth buying' beauty tools.

REVIEW| REVLON COLORSTAY MAKEUP FOUNDATION in 'HAZELNUT'

About a year and a half ago, I wrote a review on Beauty Bulletin about Revlon’s Colorstay 24H Makeup Foundation in ‘Hazelnut’ and I see that my sentiments about the foundation haven’t changed, well except for that one complaint that has actually been addressed. I thought I should update my review seeing as I’m now much happier with the foundation and there's a competition running with the #LoveSquadSA where the winner gets a year's supply of their favourite shade!

BEAUTY CHAT| SKINCARE FOR BLEMISHED COMBINATION SKIN

I was recently invited to participate in a South African beauty bloggers' version of Jaclyn Hill's Ride or Die makeup tag and this week the focus has been on skincare, so I thought I'd share my top 5 #RideOrDieSA skincare favourites that I rely on to take care of my blemished combination skin.

And they look gorgeous on dark skin...if I do say so myself! ;)

HAIR| #HEALTHYHAIRGOALS

I initially wanted to title this post 'RelaxedHairGoals' but to be honest, I don't know if my hair will still be relaxed by the end of this year.

DIY| CLEAN YOUR BRUSHES QUICKLY & EASILY

Since embarking on a new skincare journey, I've become somewhat obsessive about the cleanliness of my brushes, especially my foundation brushes. I naturally had to find a quick and easy way to clean them and the combination of Garnier's Micellar Water, Johnson's Baby Shampoo and a grooved rubber glove (#XpressBrushGlove) from SwiitchBeauty turned out to be perfect!

#CHANGEYOURSKIN WITH KIEHL'S

Hey everyone! So about three weeks ago I began a new skincare journey with Beauty Bulletin and Kiehl's as part of their #ChangeYourSkin challenge. Kiehl's challenged several other beauty influencers and I to try out five of their iconic skincare products for 28 days with the hope of transforming our skins into radiant, clear splendour. For the past three weeks we've all been tracking the changes to our skins and reviewing the products based on our experiences.

REVIEW| INSTAGRAM PURCHASES

Work, work, work, work, work, work…a few indistinguishable moments then back at it again – this has been my life of late! In my last post, I shared a few tips about making beauty purchases off Instagram and I had mentioned that I would review the products that I’d bought and the service I received. This review is quite overdue but I hope that it will still be helpful in some way.

BEAUTY CHAT| TIPS ON BUYING BEAUTY PRODUCTS OFF INSTAGRAM

I love shopping. And I’m sure you do as well.

My other weakness: Instagram. I’m pretty disciplined when it comes to social media, but there’s something about perusing through other ‘grammers perfectly coordinated feeds that’s got me entranced…and obviously I’m always going through other beauty bloggers’ accounts and salivating over their recent purchases.

MANE INTRO

Good puns are what blog posts are made of, right?

I wrote this post hoping that a simple intro to the current state of my hair will provide good reference to future posts where I'll be sharing about the hair care regimen I'm following, products I use and #hairgoals. I wanted to capture the history of this crown of mine as I believe it's important to reflect on the way you treat your hair, especially if you are anticipating that it will one day grow to surpass Rapunzel's (okay not really, but close enough, lol). Reflecting generally tends to puts things into perspective and is often the key to moving forward.
Mini life coach moment there…anyway…

REVIEW| LIPIDOL CLEANSING FACE OIL*

If you love Bio-Oil then you'll be glad to know that the makers of the popular multi-purpose oil launched a skincare oil range that promises to  clear your skin of dirt and makeup without stripping the skin's natural oil layer. The Lipidol skincare oil range has six different oils, and I have had the opportunity to test out one of them.

HELLO AGAIN...

South African Beauty Blogger

 Hello...again!

So many thoughts are speeding through my mind as to how I should properly reintroduce myself to the blogging world. To be honest, it feels like I'm writing a much dreaded apology letter that needs to be perfectly articulated and emotionalised, but I’ll try and not take that route.
